APImel has been produced since 1990 and is intended for feeding bees during the winter. Along the way, APImel has become very well known in Europe. Due to its well-studied composition, APImel supplies bees with monosaccharides (i.e. glucose and fructose). As a result, bees do not need to consume additional energy and nutrients to convert disaccharides into monosaccharides. APImel contains 15% moisture similar to honey. Therefore, bees do not need to seek essential water from their hive during the winter months.
