Wooden pollen catcher with folding grid. Contains a wooden pollen tray and perforated galvanized steel sheet. It also comes with a slot for fixing the hive with pegs. Includes drone escape.
This trap consists of a grid with 4.5 mm mesh, i.e. wide enough for a worker to pass through and narrow enough to dislodge the pollen pellets stuck to the outside of the hind legs. Below the vertical grid, a horizontal sieve with 3 mm mesh allows the pollen to pass into a box that collects it.
It fits well in Layens hives, and also in Langstroth and Dadant transhumant hives.
