Spur for sticking wax

The beekeeper's spur is used to manually attach and secure the wax sheets to the wires of the hive frames. This model has a wooden handle and a copper wheel.

For efficient use, it is suggested to warm the spur, either by dipping it in hot water or exposing it to direct heat, such as in the embers of a fire. This process allows the spur to slide more easily over the wax, ensuring a firm and uniform hold on the wires.

Although using an electric transformer to adhere the wax is a more modern and practical option, the spur remains a classic alternative that stands out for its simplicity and low cost. In addition, it does not require electricity, making it an ideal tool for working in isolated places or in situations where access to electric power is limited.
